33 weeks

I am 33 weeks and 5 days now and I am very anxious to see my baby. I have been feeling her every hour which comfort me. Knowing that she's there waiting to see me too is a big relief. I know I have a very easy pregnancy and my baby never gave me any problems and I just can't wait see and hug her.

Week Thirty Three: Lanugo is disappearing

You are 33 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 31 weeks)
  • The baby is now 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and around 17.5 inches (44cm) in length.
  • The diameter of the head is about 8.5cm.
  • The baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing.
  • Your baby drinks about a pint of amniotic fluid a day.
  • You may gain a pound a week (500g) for the rest of your pregnancy.
  • Half of your weight gain will go directly to your baby.
The baby is using it's lungs to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. Your baby is drinking about a pint of amniotic fluid a day now and urinating the same amount. The early baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing now and being replaced by actual hair. The nails of your baby are now long enough to reach to the tip of the fingers or beyond and may need trimming as soon as they are born. They may scratch their face even before birth.

You may gain a pound a week for the rest of your pregnancy. Do not stop eating or start skipping meals as your weight increases. Both you and your baby need the calories and nutrition you receive from a healthy diet. Calcium intake is extremely important during pregnancy because the baby will draw calcium from the mother to make and harden bone. This can greatly weaken her own bones and teeth because the developing fetus will take minerals from the mother's skeletal structure as needed.

Done with the Class

Yup my entry here is pretty late. I have been so busy with so many things and I completely forgot to make an entry. Last Tuesday April 14, 2009 was our New Dads class then Thursday April 16 was the breastfeeding class. I was so excited at the same time worried since I planning to breastfeed my baby. I just figured that it's the best thing for her since breastfeeding has a lot of advantages like immune system and it also cost effective. I just hope I will be successful in trying to breastfeed her since I heard a lot of horrible stories about it, but our class speaker is so positive about it and she is so willing to help if we need help.

I have been working and keeping myself pretty busy. Tomorrow we have our pediatrician appointment even though they said that it's not really necessary to meet them before the baby is born but we just want to make sure we like the doctor and be comfortable with when the baby comes.

I am on my 33 weeks 5 days now, the big day is coming really soon and I can see that we are not physically ready yet but we can work on that. We still have enough time to figure everything up.

I'll be making entries more often from now on.

And yet another class

Last night was our third class session. We tackle about birthing positions which is really cool. We are able to sit on those stools, birthing ball which is just like my yoga ball and also positions where my husband can be a big help.

I am now 31 weeks and 9 more weeks and I will finally see my baby.

Our Class

Man, I can't believe i forgot to put an entry about our class last Tuesday. It was kinda important because we discuss about what to expect about labor. When we are going to call or go. It was definitely helpful. We have a guest speaker for doula but i don't think I would like to have one since I am not the kind of person that want to talk when it come to pain and stuff. I just like to be alone and relax. Next Tuesday I definitely write an entry for our class again. I am excited to go to one since I love to learn stuff when it comes to my baby.

She is been very active, I have been feeling her everyday and she reacts when I eat and drink. What I also notice is she moves and kicks a lot when I am in the car and especially when I am driving.

I just can't wait to give her a big hug.

Regular Pregnancy Visit

Today is my routine visit to my health care provider. My Glucose test from the previous came back okay and my pap smear result are also fine. The only thing that was borderline was my iron level. It is in the borderline of being low. So I guess I just have to eat more food that are high in iron to help my iron level. Then they also check the position of my baby which is head down and she is a posterior baby which means she is crooked and the best position for a baby is when the baby is facing the mother. She advice me to do certain stuff to make the baby move and maybe change its position. So am trying to do it for me and my baby's benefit.

Today was quite a long busy day but it is definitely okay for me. As long as i can have my little nap I am ready to go again!!

Our First Class

Yup we had our first class Tuesday March 17th. It's just mainly like overview and introduction since we have other couples / pregnant women who are doing the class too. We had our pop quiz which was helpful. The instructor showed us things which are pretty basic which I still considered pretty helpful especially to us because this going to be our first time parents and I know we still have a lot of stuff to learn.

So far my pregnancy is been very good and enjoyable. My back pains are still there but it not too much anymore since we don't have cold weather anymore. I always have back pains when it's cold even when I wasn't pregnant. Thank God it kinda went away.

Now the kicks are getting stronger and the movements are so obvious, I actually enjoyed it. I can't help but feel the moment knowing that my baby is moving and doing it's exercise. I definitely love the idea of feeling my baby every second every move she makes. I don't want to miss anything. It's just so cool that I actually can have a baby and I am going to be the mother of this new creature.

I get pretty emotional when I see other babies on TV and thinking that I will have one soon. It's just so amazing how I blessed I am to be able to have my own child to take care and love.

Month Seven

Baby
Your baby's eyes can now open and close and can sense light changes. The lanugo is starting to disappear from the baby's face. Your baby's hearing is getting better. He or she can now hear the outside world quite well over the sound of your heartbeat. The baby exercises by kicking and stretching. He or she can also make grasping motions and likes to suck its thumb.

Your baby is coated with a waxy substance called vernix caseosa which protects his skin, and he is building up a layer of fat which will help him to maintain his body temperature once he is born.

Your baby is continuing to grow and develop. If the baby was born now, its chances of survival are better than last month, (28 weeks - 90% of babies survive premature birth) some complications are still possible. By the end of this month, your baby will be approximately 16 inches (42 cm) long and weigh about 2.5 or 3 pounds (1100 to 1400 grams).

Mother

As your stomach expands, you may notice stretchmarks on your stomach or thighs. Your navel will begin to stick out if it doesn't already. Indigestion can be a problem as your growing baby presses on your stomach. Some women have lower back pain or sciatic pain as the abdomen grows larger and the pelvic joints loosen in preparation for delivery. Leg cramps may pose a problem; adequate calcium in your diet can help.

You may feel painless contractions, called Braxton Hicks contractions. These contractions are a way for your uterus to ''practice'' and do not signify the onset of labour. Your antenatal checks will increase in frequency, perhaps to every 2-3 weeks. Remember to give your employer notice of when you plan to stop work and when you plan to return.

7 Months and counting

I have been very busy lately that I have no time to write a blog for my baby updates. Yes, I am in my 7 months now, actually 28 weeks going on 29 now. My baby Aubrey is been quite active which I can tell when is her sleeping and wake period. She been very reactive to foods and liquids that I take which makes me happy. I am not quite sure if she likes to be in the car since she always react when I am in the car especially when I am driving most definitely when I am driving quite fast.

Next week we are going to attend classes so I'll write updates on that.

Regular Visit

Today was a bit hectic since I have my regular prenatal visit. Plus they are doing the Glucose test and the pap smear. So far my pap smear exam is fine. I have to wait for the results of my pap smear and glucose test and hoping everything will be okay. The blood being drawn from me wasn't a good thing but I still manage to take the pain. It wasn't too bad as long as I am not looking at the needle :)

I am now 26 weeks pregnant and I have 3 more months to go and my baby is been very active and I am kinda glad since I can tell she's there kicking which is a good sign as a healthy baby.

Can't wait to see her and give her kisses....

Worries and Pregnancy

Worries and pregnancy seems to be partners in this magical moment in life. Everyday feeling your baby is so amazing yet it worries are always there every moment too. I am a first time mom-to-be and having my baby is full of exciting and happiness and at the same time worries. Worries because I am thinking of too much like my baby's health especially and appearance and also worries when sometimes I don't feel my baby's kicks when I know deep inside my baby could be just sleeping that is why I am not feeling it's movements. What can I do? All mothers are worried sick about anything right? All we want is a perfect healthy baby.

Today I am happy because I have been feeling my baby kicks a lot and every time I eat something she kicks and every time the dog barks she kicks. I am so happy that my baby is rock and rolling inside. I don't care if sometimes hurts, all I care about is my baby is there inside kicking and maybe dancing??? :) LOL

6 Months - 24 weeks

I am officially in my 24 weeks on my pregnancy. I just start my 6 months period yesterday and 3 more months to go. Weather is helping a lot now that it's not cold anymore. My back pains are not bothering me as much as it did when it was cold.

This month continues to be a period of rapid growth. At 24 weeks, your baby can suck his thumb and you may feel baby hiccup. He will have patterns of sleep and activity which you will come to know. His skin has lost its translucent appearance, but he still has not laid down any stores of fat and is therefore quite thin.
Your baby's skin is wrinkled and red. It is covered with lanugo (fine, soft hair) and vernix (a substance consisting of oil, sloughed skin cells and lanugo). Real hair and toenails are beginning to grow.

Your baby's brain is developing rapidly. Fatty sheaths which transmit electrical impulses along nerves are forming. Meconium, your baby's first stool, is developing. A special type of fat (brown fat) that keeps your baby warm at birth is forming.

Baby girls will develop eggs in their ovaries during this month. The baby's bones are becoming solid. Your baby is almost fully formed and looks like a miniature human. However, because the lungs are not well developed and the baby is still very small, a baby cannot usually live outside the uterus at this stage without highly specialized care.

Unplanned Shopping

My old friend and I decided to meet yesterday for lunch and then go to the mall. She is 32 weeks pregnant too and wanted to see me since I am 23 weeks pregnant and we haven't seen each other in almost a year now. We ate at the Chinese buffet and then headed to Burlington coat factory. When we got there we started shopping around for ourselves and I didn't really intend on getting stuff for my little angel but I can't resist when I saw them. They are really cute and I can't stop but look through and ended up buying even my husband said don't buy anything for the baby yet since his sister and mom will have a baby shower for me and we'll just going to shop after. What can I do I was just excited and I wanted to buy stuff for my baby even though it wasn't much but it satisfied my feeling.

Never get tired

Last night I was bugging my husband to hook up a VHS player so I can see the sonogram video again. He was like you want it now??? I said yea. He was hesitant but can he do? I know how to melt his heart by asking very nice, so hook me up a VHS(we asked the sonogram technician why used a VHS why not just used a DVD or something, but she said it's more convenient for her and for parents since most wants to do it more than 1, by using a VHS she can just add the next one to the last one which makes sense). I am very excited as usual I have been wanting to see my baby again even after we came out of the office, I have been looking at her pictures every hour or so. What can I do I can't wait to see my little angel especially that she reminds me every minute because she's been kicking trying to tell me that she's there. My husband watch our baby last night and again today I watched it again and want to watch it again but I am afraid that if I keep rewinding it, it will ruin the tape so I hold on to myself and I have to wait until we get a copy of it and put it in DVD or copy it to my computer, it's so much easier.

So excited to see you baby

Today was an important day of me and my husband's life because, today we saw our little angel through the power of technology called sonogram. I have been ecstatic just hearing my little angel's heartbeat and I can't wait to see my baby. We decided to know if it's a boy or girl to kinda prepare and for the baby shower too. My baby was awake when we are doing the sonogram and it was kicking like a pro inside. We knew that our little angel is a GIRL. She was very active throughout the entire process kicking and stretching. When we finally almost over she was yawning which we caught in on tape since we decided to have a video of the whole time and of course print outs of our baby girl.

22 Weeks

I had my regular prenatal visit Thursday and everything seems to be okay. My baby seems to doing fine and all test came back regular. I am very happy to hear the heart beat of my little angel and knowing that she is doing great inside made my whole day. I have been feeling my angel lately and very happy every time i feel the kicks and moves and squirm. It just made me feel comfortable and worry-free.

Fascinated

I was just browsing around the Internet last night and I saw the news (well it is news to me since I never heard it and maybe I am pretty late with it) with Jenna Jameson that she is having a twin this coming April. I looked her up and found her myspace.com website and saw this really cool and cute picture that I want to share.

Enjoying my pregnancy

Yup that is true. I am enjoying every minute of it. I know I am gaining weight dramatically but to hell with it, it's for my little angel who is kicking every everyday. I am so amazed how life is being created inside me and to be able to feel it every single day is just priceless. I tried to count every kick and squirm and moves my baby is doing everyday. I am so blessed that God granted me this opportunity to feel this way and I just can't wait to see and hug my little angel.

I made this blog entry because my baby is literally kicking right now and I am so excited to feel it.

Uncomfortable...

Cold weather is one of my enemies. I hate cold weather and I can never imagine living in a place colder than Florida. We are now experiencing a cold front and in my situation, it's not very comfortable since I am having this back pains and lying to be comfortable is not going to be easy. My baby is moving a lot more now that I can easily notice it and I make trips to the bathroom frequently to avoid some accidents. I just hope this cold weather will go away so I can be more comfortable. Even though I enjoy my pregnancy every minute of it, I love the sensation that I can feel my baby's movements and stuff I would appreciate it more if the cold weather is not a factor at all.

Cold..cold...go away

Waiting and Counting

This morning I was so excited because I have been wanting to count the kicks and all the movements of my baby in my tummy and yet kinda worried because I have a lot of what if's like other expectant mothers. I have been reading about baby and pregnancy online the more knowledge you got the more curious and worried you will get too. As a concern mother I will take whatever God will give me. I was lying down in bed this morning and felt that the baby is moving so I started counting it. As far as I read I have to mark the beginning time and when the movements reach to 10 then that's end time but it has to be within 2 hours or else I might be concern a little. So I was counting starting at 9:48am and my baby reach its 10th movements at 9:53am. I was so happy since it looks like my baby has no signs of irregularities. Even after the 10th I still felt all the movements and it just made me happier. Thank God!

Back Pains

Now that we have cold fronts coming in and our weather is cold, my back is killing me. I hate the cold and now that I am pregnant it's just different. I am doing great in wrapping up myself making sure me and my baby will not be cold at all. I use heater if I have to which I am using right now. I was suffering headache before and found out it was because of the excessive use of heater. Now I am using it moderately because headache is not a good sign either. I hate taking any medicine. I try not to rely on medicine too especially in my condition. I have been putting pillows in my back so I can sleep at night. At this point in my pregnancy where my stomach is getting big, it's getting harder to find a comfortable position. I won't complain though because my baby never give me any problem whatsoever.

I just hope this cold front will go away soon.

Five Months and so proud

My belly is undeniably showing it and I am so proud because it is showing my little angel's growth inside me. I just have this very special feeling inside me that I can't explain but it is just magical because I am able to bring a new life into this world to love and hold and take care for the rest of my life. My angel is still doing so good never give me any problems as far as pains and pregnancy symptoms and all that which I am very thankful and hoping that it will go on smoothly as it is.

You are 20 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 18 weeks)

* Baby now weighes about 11 ounces and is roughly 7 inches long.
* Baby is 17cm long crown to rump, and weighs about 310 grams.
* The baby can hear and recognize the mother's voice.
* The mother will probably start feeling the first fetal movements.
* The toenails and fingernails are growing.
* The growth of hair on the rest of the body has started.
* The skin is getting thicker.
* The heart can now be heard with a stethoscope.

Your baby may react to loud sounds. Baby can actually hear noises outside of the womb. Familiar voices, music, and sounds that baby becomes accustomed to during their development stages often are calming after birth. This is an important time for sensory development since nerve cells serving each of the senses; taste, smell, hearing, sight, and touch are now developing into their specialized area of the brain.

Halfway there

I am halfway to meeting my baby now. I am on my 20 weeks which is quite amazing since I can now feel the baby moves inside, sometimes my tummy will gets really hard and when there some unusual things happen I can feel my baby move and react to it. I am so fascinated and so excited at the time.

I just had someone asked me yesterday if I am ready yet and it gets me thinking of a lot of things since I don't think I am ready yet. First we haven't started making the nursery room yet but I am not in the hurry since I finally convince my husband to find out the gender(actually with the help of my sister in law). It would be nice if we don't know if it's a boy or a girl but it is just more convenient to know and decorate the room accordingly plus I can tell the invited guests that it is a boy or girl which my sister and mother in law is putting up together. We have our appointment for the sonogram on the 30th of January and makes me excited to see my angel.

Early gifts

Again during Christmas and New Year my baby have the gifts from the family. I receive a gift from mom which is the baby's first clothes to go home and my sister bought the baby a tee shirt from Gatlinburg, North Carolina as our baby's souvenir shirt.

Thanks even though it is still too early but it is greatly appreciated.

Holidays are Over!

New Year has come and hope everything is doing well with you all.
I had my pregnancy care last New Year's eve December 31, 2008 and this time my husband came along with me so he can hear the heartbeat of our angel. I was so excited to hear it again and never get tired of hearing it. The baby has a heartbeat of 150bpm which indicates a healthy baby. Thank God. Our angel just sounds so loud and never had problem finding the heartbeat.

I am 18 weeks and 6 days now and can't wait to see our little angel.

Week Eighteen: Baby begins to hear

You are 18 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 16 weeks)
  • The fetus is now 6 inches long and weighs 7 ounces.
  • The fetus measures about 15cm and weighs almost 200 grams.
  • They can hear sounds and may be startled by loud noises.
  • Recognizable active and rest periods.
  • The skin is building a protective wax layer (vernix).
Vernix (a white cheese like protective material) forms on baby's skin with the lanugo, a soft lightly pigmented hair covering the body and limbs, both help to protect your baby's skin during the months in water. Your baby may hear your heart beating, your stomach rumbling or blood moving through the umbilical cord. He or she may even be startled by loud noises.

Tiny air sacs called alveoli begin to form in lungs and the vocal chords are formed. Baby goes through the motions of crying but without air doesn't make a sound; yet.

Your baby may have the same awake and sleep patterns of a newborn. Baby will have a favorite position for sleep and recognizable active and rest periods.

Your baby measures about 6 inches (15cm) crown to rump and weighs about 7 ounces (200gm)
